What to see in Doha
One of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Doha is La Corniche. Extending over several kilometres, it is a waterfront walkway. It offers a great view of the water and city skyline, making it a popular gathering spot for families and tourists. Aspire Park is considered to be the ideal spot to visit with your family. The Aspire Tower is a 300 meters high building that served as a giant torch in the 15th Asian Games and is now a lovely hotel.
Situated offshore of Doha’s West Bay Lagoon area, the Pearl is a man-made island and is the most popular place to visit in Doha. You can visit this island to shop in the many high-end retail stores or simply take a walk along the beautiful boardwalk.

The beautiful city of Doha is surrounded by desert trains that offer an adventurous day out. Make sure to organize a camel riding trip for a taste of Doha’s traditional mode of transport. With its remarkable architecture and a huge collection of artifacts, the Museum of Islamic Arts is one of Doha’s most celebrated spots. It houses extraordinary collections of ceramics, metalworks, manuscripts, and textiles of the Islamic times from 14 centuries ago.
Located just 20 kilometers from Doha, Banana Island offers you a full day of lounging by the pools, boat rides, waterslides, kayaking, and several other water sports.
Where to eat in Doha
Doha’s cuisine represents the Middle East but it also has a magnificent diversity of international cuisines. Situated in the Museum of Islamic Arts, IDAM offers contemporary French cuisine with an Arabic touch. Another restaurant that will make your taste buds tingle is SMAT. It serves authentic Qatari dishes cooked to perfection.
Morimoto Doha is one of the finest restaurants in the Middle East where you can enjoy omakase and sushi. It is adorned with beautiful and elegant artworks of a renowned Japanese painter, Hiroshi Senju. The Cellar is another great restaurant worth visiting.
Where to shop in Doha
When visiting Doha, a stop at the Souq Waqif market is a must. Amongst one of Qatar’s oldest markets, its stores are filled with jewelry, textiles, spices, and local handicrafts. Another place to buy some jewelry and precious gems is the Gold Souq market. You can find affordable jewelry in white gold, silver, and platinum.
With its Venetian-inspired canals and gondola rides, the Villaggio Mall will make you feel like you are in Italy. Completely air-conditioned, this mall is home to several luxury brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Dior. Lulu Hypermarket offers traditional outfits, beauty products, and home decor. The Gate Mall, Lagoona Mall, Dar Al Salaam Mall, Tawar Mall are a few other famous shopping malls in Doha.
Getting around Doha
Taxis are available for short distances and trips beyond the city. Karwa Taxi is the only taxi brand licensed to operate at Hamad International Airport. Uber and Careem Taxis are two other taxi services available in the city. Hiring a car is a relatively cheaper option in Doha. To rent a car, you need to show your passport and carry an international driving license.
Buses in Doha have been available for a long time but aren’t considered the best method of transport. Opened in 2019, metros are an affordable and efficient traveling option. Most of the major tourist attraction spots have a metro station nearby.
